I suspect there will be millions of posts about snow this weekend and how it's ruined life itself but mine is slightly different. I love the snow! This morning, as I walked to work disguised as a snowman I thought to myself. Yep, I should have been a penguin or maybe an eskimo but I'm rubbish at building things and I don't like fish so it's probably just as well I'm a human. Just a human.
On my way home from work it was more like a blizzard, I definitely needed ski's but unfortunately Morrison's don't sell these, nor do they sell umbrellas. So without my hood, hat and gloves I walked as fast as my legs would carry me, I wasn't quite enjoying the snow any more. Then, I see a young couple holding hands smiling without a care in the world. I wish that was me, I thought. I see a dad with his toddler son building a snow man. I wish that was me too. Not a dad, no silly. My toddler's currently in his sick bay with a bowl, watching Mickey Mouse on repeat. So, instead I walk alone with Mumford and Sons playing in my ears telling me that they will wait for me. Would anyone wait for me? By this point I looked more like a polar bear or a drowned rat. I arrived at my apartment door and I couldn't even press the buzzer my hands were that cold but I made it home and I still love the snow. I actually hope it's still there in the morning so I can do it all again. I'll have my carrot nose ready.
We have planned to go to Great Yarmouth on Monday for a week, in a
caravan... Brrr! Well, we can make snowmen on the beach, fly a kite.
Time together as a family is all I wish for. I have even banned work and laptops!
Who cares if this time last year we had sunburn and was eating barbecued sausages? Just enjoy your hot chocolates and warm, cosy homes whilst you can because soon you'll have to wear those dreaded dresses and strappy tops.. *shudder*
So, what was you doing this time last year? It's funny how the seasons change isn't it. Global warming? Pffft! I call it Global freezing.
P.s. Facebook has returned................
